Where did the color selection tool go in the HSL panel in Lightroom? I’ve never had this feature and I use the latest version of Lightroom Classic.

A great tutorial with tons of good pointers and clarification of what the re-toucher is looking for. Aaron does some simple touch ups and even some rather major changes to the picture that are flawless. Loved this, have watched it more than once.

    Great tutorial

I found this tutorial useful. I think it’s great that you use models of various races and skin tones, but I’ve found that color correcting skin tones in photos taken in bright sunlight of pale white girls can be particularly nightmarish, and the insights here weren’t as helpful as they might have been. I think I used about 12 different curve layers to adjust for all the stray cyans, magentas, and yellows everywhere. I guess it happens. One thing I don’t understand is Aaron’s aversion to the quick selection tool. At 8:55 of the third video, he grabs the pen tool and selects and area to undo some stray paint. Seriously, the quick selection tool in that instance takes so much less time, literally a couple seconds, and is equally precise. The situation in the video is precisely where the quick selection tool excels. Anyway, just curious. I suspect it’s just a matter of habit. Here is my “after” photo. If you were to see her skin in the before, you’d be shocked. 🙂

    Great tutorial again.

I hoped you’d explain how to get rid of the weird green fringing on the right side of her body and all around her hair (where it was particularly noticeable). Maybe in the next one.

    So glad I discovered Phlearn.

@yurepo For 16bit the Scale should be 2 and Offset 0. For 8bit Scale 2 and Offset 128

  13. Rated 5 out of 5

What should the Scale and Offset settings in the Apply Image window while setting up the frequency separation ‘high frequency’ layer be? They are scale 2 and offset 128 for the 8 bit image in this tutorial.
